Explanation of RASA SUTRA:-

• introduction 

1. What is Rasa

  • Rasa is the soul of any literature
  • Relished- like the test of food is rasa
• " रसयते आनेन इति रस: "

• It istablish by Bharat muni who is the author of Narayan shastra 
 
• there are six branches is Sanskriti literart know as Indian aesthetic like

•  Rasa
•.  Alankar 
•  vriti 
•  vakkrokti 
•.   Dhawni 
•.     Avchitya


• Bharatmuni gives the dital rasa in chapter 6,7, of Natyashastra.

• नही रसद्रीते कश्चिदअर्थ प्रवत्तते।।
•  nahi rasadrite kashidarth pravartate.
• no meaning can be rendered is absence of RASA.

Rasa sutra:-

• the word is composed of two letters " RA"and " SA"
• ra means "together" and sa means 'motion' 
Rasa means = to flow, pleasure,delight interest,charm,beauty, elegance etc.
" विभाव अनूभाव यवभिचारी समयोगद रासनिष्पति"
• Vibhav Anubhava Vyabhicharribhava Samyogad Rasanishpatii 
       The famous definition of RASA in the aphoristic from is given in the 6 chapter of Natyashastra called Rasa- sutra.
 •    Rasa is accomplished as a result of the conjunction of VIbhav Anubhava and Vyabhicharribhava.

• vibhava has two types :-
1. Alamban 
2. Uddipan 

     According to Natyashastra three types of the Bhav given by Bharat muni are as follows:-

(1) Sthayibhava :-  (8)

(2)। Sancharibhava:- (33)

( 3)।  Sattvikbhava:- (8)

what is vibhava ?

Vi vibhava means causes of cicrumastanse 

- two types of vaibhav 

(1) Alambana 

(2)  Uddipan 

(1) Alabama :-

         • Alambana means person or persons with reference to whom the emotions is manifested.

(2) Uddipan :-

     •। Circumstances that have excited the emotions.

what is Anubhava :-

It means bodily experience by which the emotions is expresed.

• what is Vyabhicharibhava :-

Vyabhicharribhava means a series of diverse emotions that feed the dominant emotions.

There are three types of bhava 

1. Sthayibhava (8)

2.  Vyabhicharribhava (33)

3.   Sattvikbhava (8)

what is sthayibhava:-

According to bharat muni Sthayibhava are 8 numbers.

        रतिहस्य शोकाश्य क्रोधात्साहो भय तथा खुगुप्सा विस्मयधुवती स्थायीभाव: प्रकित्तता: ।

 what is Vyabhicharribhava:-

   Vyabhicharribhava are 33 number from which 5 are list below.

1.sanka - doubt 

2. Alaska. - laziness 

3. Nnidra. - Sleep 

4.supta - Dreaming 

5. Marana - death' 

what is sattvikbhava

1.Sweda

2.stamba

3.kampa

4.Asru 

5.vaivarnya

6.romanch

7.swarbhed

8.pataya.

They are eigt in numbers as a above .

Physics expression of the feeling of the mind are called sattvik bhava temperamental states. 

  sattvikbhava are expressed on the satge using sattvik abhinay body gesture are necessary or their presentation without it the real purpose of performance would be lost.
